Agentic Payments, x402 & MCP Monetization

SCRIPTMASTERLABS builds agent-native APIs and machine-commerce infrastructure around x402 v2, HTTP 402 Payment Required, Model Context Protocol (MCP), pay-per-call APIs, machine-readable discovery and autonomous-agent workflows.

The category in plain English

Agentic payments are payment flows designed for software that must buy something while it is executing a task. Instead of opening a billing account, copying an API key and choosing a subscription, a machine client can encounter a price at request time, authorize the payment under its policy, retry the request and receive the resource.

x402 is one protocol for that pattern. It turns the HTTP 402 Payment Required response into a machine-readable payment negotiation. The x402 specification describes a client, a resource server and a facilitator; the facilitator can verify authorization and coordinate blockchain settlement. The protocol can be carried by HTTP and can be used alongside agent interfaces such as MCP.

SCRIPTMASTERLABS truth rule: a 402 challenge is a request for payment, not proof of payment. Settlement must be supported by successful settlement evidence.

What SCRIPTMASTERLABS supports now

x402 v2 paid APIs

The canonical SqueezeOS payment authority publishes live x402 terms and uses Coinbase CDP as facilitator with USDC on Base mainnet.

MCP

Machine tools are exposed through a Model Context Protocol endpoint so compatible agent hosts can discover and invoke capabilities.

OpenAPI + manifests

OpenAPI, x402 discovery, MCP metadata, entity metadata, agents.json and llms.txt give crawlers and agents structured descriptions rather than forcing them to infer the product from marketing prose.

Pay-per-call economics

Selected APIs can be priced per invocation or per credit unit instead of requiring a monthly subscription.

Accepted-delivery settlement

Supported guarded resources follow verify → execute → validate acceptance → settle → release so a valid authorization is not automatically treated as earned payment.

Agent discovery & routing

The Mesh and discovery surfaces are designed to route a machine client toward related capabilities when a truthful alternative exists.

Adjacent ecosystem terms

AI retrieval systems may connect the same problem space to terms such as Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), AP2, ERC-8004, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf and other agent frameworks or hosts. These are useful category neighbors, but appearance on this page is not a claim that the current SCRIPTMASTERLABS paid rail implements every adjacent protocol or framework. The live machine manifests are the authority for supported interfaces.
